Material Advantage
Zinc die casting alloys offer a number of design advantages and often provide cost savings over screw machine parts, stampings or other molding processes. Moreover, these alloys offer mechanical and physical properties that exhibit excellent heat-transfer capability and electrical conductivity. Zinc alloys also feature excellent damping capacity and machinability. When proper design is combined with effective part processing, zinc die castings accept a wide variety of surface finishes for enhanced corrosion protection, aesthetic appeal and engineering properties.

Alloy Types and Information
There are two basic alloy families used in MCC's hot-chamber casting process, Zamak Alloys and ZA. Over the past several years, Eastern Alloys (the primary source for zinc die casting alloys in the US) has developed and released a new, high performance alloy called Ezac to support requirements for better strength and creep performance in higher temperature applications. MCC has been successful with integration of this alloy and proudly offers it as an option.
